Bay Blue

Set amongst the established landscapes of Northern California, Bay Blue is a home shaped by light, openness and a deep connection to its surroundings.

Bay Blue

Designed for a young family with a love of travel, art and collected objects, the project transforms an existing residence into a warm and welcoming retreat that feels both refined and deeply personal. Drawing inspiration from the relaxed indoor-outdoor lifestyle of Australia's east coast and the character of the San Francisco Bay Area, the home balances sophistication with ease.

Working within the existing footprint, the design focused on improving flow, enhancing natural light and strengthening the relationship between the interiors and the surrounding landscape. Large steel-framed openings create seamless connections to the gardens, allowing the home to feel open, calm and connected.

A restrained palette of natural materials, layered textures and soft tones forms the foundation of the interiors, while curated furniture, artwork and collected pieces bring personality and depth. Subtle touches of blue are woven throughout, a reflection of both the owners' affinity for the colour and the coastal landscape beyond.

Thoughtfully layered and designed to evolve with family life, Bay Blue is a home that feels relaxed, timeless and uniquely its own.
