PLAYA House
Overlooking the coastline in Palm Beach, PLAYA House marks a complete interior transformation of a contemporary three-storey residence. The brief called for a more relaxed and expressive approach, softening the architectural rigidity through texture, colour and curated vintage pieces. The result is a layered, character-filled home that supports both vibrant family life and quiet retreat.
Playa House
Energetic from the outset, PLAYA House captures the spirit of its owners while gently honouring the home’s history. Centred around its enviable beachfront position and expansive views, the design is grounded in openness and connection, brought to life through a considered layering of colour, texture and collected pieces that enrich the experience.
This three-storey Palm Beach holiday home reimagines a contemporary concrete and glass structure with warmth, personality and a sense of play. To soften the linearity and strength of the architecture, the interiors introduce a more relaxed, organic language, pairing vintage elements with natural materials such as rattan, limestone and wicker.
Throughout the home, moments of whimsy and curation create a sense of discovery. Playful pieces, including a vintage rattan palm tree and a custom handwoven light fitting by New York artisan Doug Johnston, sit alongside iconic design moments such as Gaetano Pesce’s ‘Up’ chair in bold red and white stripes, adding energy and contrast. The palette moves away from traditional coastal tones, instead embracing sun-warmed terracotta and earthy khaki, layered with softer accents of blue and green. Rich textures, stone flooring, vintage Moroccan rugs, and woven finishes, create depth, while unexpected bursts of colour bring vibrancy and individuality to each space.
Fun, expressive and deeply liveable, PLAYA House is designed to spark joy, balancing creativity with functionality to create a home that feels both inspiring and effortlessly practical for everyday family life.
