Designed in collaboration with Vitale Design, the project sought to honour the home's original architecture while creating spaces that better reflect the way the family lives today. The result is a thoughtful evolution, one that respects the past while embracing a more open, connected and relaxed way of living.

From the outset, sensitivity to the existing character of the home guided every design decision. Original details were retained and celebrated, while new interventions were introduced with restraint and purpose. Rather than competing with the home's heritage features, the interiors were designed to feel like a natural continuation of its story.

A rich palette of natural materials, handcrafted finishes and layered textures brings warmth and depth throughout the home. Joinery was thoughtfully detailed to feel more like furniture than built-in cabinetry, creating a sense of permanence and character while introducing a contemporary refinement. Natural stone, expressive veining and nuanced finishes interact beautifully with changing light, bringing movement and subtle variation to the spaces throughout the day.

The floor plan was carefully reconfigured and expanded to improve functionality and flow, creating a greater sense of generosity throughout the home. Spaces were reallocated to better support everyday living while reinforcing the home as a place of comfort, connection and retreat.

Equally important was strengthening the relationship between the interiors and the surrounding landscape. Large openings and considered sightlines encourage a seamless connection between inside and out, allowing natural light, garden views and fresh air to become an integral part of the daily experience. The landscape design by Garden Life Landscapes plays a significant role in framing these connections, softening the boundaries of the site and creating a sense of privacy and calm.

Throughout Greenhouse, old and new exist in quiet harmony. Heritage details sit comfortably alongside contemporary interventions, creating a home that feels layered, timeless and deeply connected to its setting. The result is a residence that honours its history while offering a fresh and enduring vision for modern family living.
